We don't feel much like celebrating. On the eve of our first revolution, we do not feel independent, not when our President can wiretap our phones and check our library records. We are in a country so currupt that a political movement is nothing but an empty gesture. I want so badly to believe in my country and those who have sworn to protect it. I am embarrassed that there are men and women fighting and DYING because they believe in the ideals of this country and we're letting it happen because we don't.
We're having a wake instead. We are mourning the passing of the presence of the American People in politics as well as the deaths of those men and women who died truly defending freedom. The 3,584 US Soldiers who died in Iraq have lost their lives for a lie, and the 26,350 US Soldiers wounded in the Iraq war will have to live with that for the rest of their lives.
To prove that you're worthy of this country, take part of the naturalization test. My husband and I both got a 100%.

I said this over at Zombieslayers and I'll say it here... I think everyone should take that test, and whoever passes gets or retains citizenship... whoever doesn't - citizen or not --> back to the Motherland... :p
I agree that everyone needs to take that test. I think it should be one of the requirements for passing high school.
Hey, I owe you a belated hat tip on that citizenship test. I posted it after you, but had such a hectic day yesterday, I didn't remember where I saw it first. I think everyone who serves in public office should take the test. I wonder how many of our glorious leaders would pass. I'm betting Bush wouldn't sore above 25%, which is about what a chimpanzee would score.
Pretty easy test if you were born and educated here. Actually easier than the literacy tests given to non-white voters in the south until the middle 60's. I also missed the naturalization form to fill out but that is probably the easiest one for someone seeking naturalization.

Got one wrong. I thought New Hampshire wasn't one of the 13. Everything else was easy for me except for the form to become a citizen. I guessed that one and got it right.
I did fail the Canadian test, so I guess I can't become a Canadian any time soon.
And I agree with you. It should be a requirement to pass high school.
This is something that should be distributed on the streets so that Americans can see just how uneducated they are. You all did well, but I don't know how many of my friends and family would be able to answer these questions.

I wish I could believe that he would be impeached. I think Obama hurt us by saying that he wasn't going to push for impeachment. And Clinton got impeached for getting a blow job. How fucked up is our country?
